AMAZON RECOMMENDER SYSTEM visit #4

I next view and rated a tomtom GPS and some accessories. After rating the recommendation was made but nothing I was interested in.

AMAZON RECOMMENDER SYSTEM visit #3

I next was asked to rate another item and I decided to rate SD CARD. Again, another 45 items were asked to be rated on scale of 1-5 and if I owned the item. After the rating Amazon recommended 15 items for me none which I was interested in.

AMAZON RECOMMENDER SYSTEM visit #2

My second recommendation or second interaction with Amazon proved a closer recommendation to my first item which I rank and owned. It was a lens cap for my camera lens.
2nd interaction with Amazon I was asked to enter another item and then a list would be provided for me to rank. I typed in Nikon d80 and rated 5 star for the camera. There were 44 other items which I didn't have. After this Amazon made a recommendation with a battery grip as the first item which I would have been interested had I not already own it.

SkiMatcher Solution Recommender System

http://web.engr.oregonstate.edu/~herlock/rsw2001/final/whos_who_attendees/2_ski.pdf

Ski-Europe.com utilizes SKI Matcher, recommender system to help match customers to their destination due to too much time spent by staff trying to manually match a person's destination before booking a destination.

AMAZON RECOMMENDER SYSTEM

I started with Google as a recommender system but changed to Amazon recommender system as my system for the semester. To begin I had to first register for an account. Since Amazon didn't know about me it just threw out some odd recommendation at first. To personalized I had to answer some questions. I was asked to search for something then had to rate it. I searched for camera lens and the ratings was to see if i owned a certain lens or not and then rank it. I had about 45 items most which I didn't own or didn't rate so at the end Amazon didn't have a recommendation for me.
